Beaches that are in danger of an oil spill can be protected effectively with Enviro Bond 403™. This is an agent that is a USDA food grade polymer that transforms oil from a liquid into a solid as soon as it touches it. Also, it is non-harmful to humans as will as fish and wildlife. It is:
The Environmental Protection Agency lists Enviro Bond 403™ as a solidifier that can be used on oil spills in waters surrounding the United States. Once it transform the oil, it becomes a solid and will float on top of the water for easy retrieval. It will not absorb the water but instead molecularly bonds with hydrocarbon spills.
Enviro Bond 403™ can be used in the water, but it can also be placed inside HESCO® Concertainer® units and prevent oil from washing up on the beaches. This will save workers a ton of time and effort because it is so much easier to perform oil spill cleanup when there is a solid mass to pick up instead of a liquid.
Once the oil is solidified, it is taken back and recycled. It then can be used as a raw material such as rubber, fuel, plastics or asphalt. Integrated Protection Systems is utilizing Enviro Bond 403™ in its oil spill clean up efforts. They also offer the HESCO® units as well and are leading suppliers of them.
